You get what you didn't pay for? 😃 : Using effective communication to get resources!🎉

I was thinking about what equipment I would like to use to shoot the opening and then I remembered what I actually can use according to the film's low budget. I realize that technology can be exhibited in any type of camera, including my phone's camera; however, I really wanted to be able to capture the clear detail of the props, actors, and pull of certain techniques such as focus pulls and zooms manually. I began to reach out to people I knew had a high-quality video camera, I contacted family members, family friends, and local photographers to find someone who would let me borrow their camera equipment; I explained what the project was, the story, and the benefits of hands-on exploration of the curriculum. I was fortunate enough to find most people were more than happy to lend me their video camera! And after I accepted one of the DSLR video cameras, the others offered to help by lending extra equipment like microphones, reflectors, and some of the props I needed!

Everything was going great until I realized that I was missing lighting equipment! I decided to shoot a part of the scene in my garage, which means I'll need the right light equipment to pull it off! It seemed like no one I knew had that equipment available or owned it at all, I decided I should approach someone I didn't know but whom I was certain had some type of lighting equipment. My mom spoke to one of her colleagues, Natalie Castellanos, who is a youtube content creator who works for Latin personalities such as Dr.Nancy Alvarex from the Dominican Republic. I emailed her explaining the AICE curriculum, my project, and its benefits. I was very lucky that she was willing to let me borrow a set of lights that I can adjust to create the perfect environment I want to use to establish the contrast between the experiment's mood (menacing, mysterious, and suspenseful) and that of the unsuspecting participants (lighthearted fun at first and slowly turning cold and dramatical, jut to regain hope near the end) throughout the film.
